Burning Man co-founder Larry Harvey wrote the 10 Principles in 2004 as guidelines, crafted not as a dictate of how people should be and act, but as a reflection of the community’s ethos, the culture that has organically developed since the event’s inception. We as the Love Festival Of Light have added our own flair by including spirituality and Mind, Body and Soul Practices to Align, Connect and Empower the Souls of the Planet together, to change the Vibration of Reality.

1. God to God Recognition

Everything you and I do affects the Whole, the universe and everything in it. This is good enough reason to elevate our thoughts and thought processes. Love Festival Of Light's community is driven by the principle that we are All God, experiencing itself in all the different ways that You and ME comprise. We all agree to treat each other in that light, to act as though and confirm at every turn that every moment is Holy, that Every single thing is Sacred, each, person, pet, blade of grass, cup, environment, setting, placement of each stone, etc, is part of a Holy symphony, in a Matrix designed for us to learn and grow in. We dedicate ourselves to honoring the God inside of each moment and each other.

1. Radical Inclusion
Anyone may be a part of Love Festival Of Light. We welcome and respect the stranger. No prerequisites exist for participation in our open community. Private Members have opted for the security, special rights, privilages and protections the church provides and are invited to exclusive events.

2. Gifting
Love Festival Of Light is devoted to acts of gift giving. The value of a gift is unconditional. Gifting does not contemplate a return or an exchange for something of equal value. Tithing to our church allows ours and your Loving Outreach Intentions to go much further & your giving will translate to furthuring our Mission.

3. Decommodification
In order to preserve the spirit of gifting, our community seeks to create social environments that are unmediated by commercial sponsorships, transactions, or advertising. We stand ready to protect our culture from such exploitation. We resist the substitution of consumption for participatory experience.

4. Radical Self-reliance
Love Festival Of Light encourages the individual to discover, exercise and rely on their inner resources. Aaand, to learn to know when and how to reach out to your community for help when in need.

5. Radical Self-expression
Radical self-expression arises from the unique gifts of the individual. No one other than the individual or a collaborating group can determine its content. It is offered as a gift to others and in this spirit, the giver agrees to respect the rights and liberties of the recipient.

6. Communal Effort
Our Loving community values creative cooperation and collaboration. We strive to produce, promote and protect social networks, public spaces, works of art, and methods of communication that support such an interaction, which is taylored to make a difference in our shared World.

7. Civic Responsibility
We value a sovereign, civil and unified society of Free Thinkers. Community members who organize events should assume responsibility for public welfare and endeavor to communicate civic responsibilities to participants. They must also assume responsibility for conducting even our events in accordance with local, state and federal laws when it is appropriate.

8. Leaving No Trace
Our Thoughtful community respects the environment. We are committed to leaving no physical trace of our activities wherever we gather. We clean up after ourselves and endeavor, whenever possible, to leave such places in a better state than when we found them.

9. Participation
Our community is committed to a radically participatory ethic. We believe that transformative change, whether in the individual or in society, can occur only through the medium of deeply personal participation. We achieve being through doing. Everyone is invited to work. Everyone is invited to play. We make the world real through actions that open the heart, mind and soul to what is.

10. Immediacy
Direct experience is the core of our spiritual path. We dissolve the illusions that separate us from our divine nature, each other, and the living universe. Through deep presence, we embody truth, awakening to the limitless potential within. No doctrine, belief, or idea can replace the power of lived experience.
